Here is a list of frequently asked questions I received from the cbox and some additional information that you may find useful.
When is Ao Haru Ride released in Japan?
AHR is usually released on the 13th of every month in the Bessatsu Margaret magazine. There is a flash countdown timer under “About” where you can find a timer counting down to the next chapter release.
Where can I find the raws for [latest chapter]?
Currently the raw provider for AHR is Shmook who subscribes to Betsuma magazine on a monthly basis. Her magazine raws will be published on BXSManga’s website whenever they’re ready.
However, if you’re looking for tankōbon scans of AHR, rawscans.com is a good place to check out as they provide many mirror links. It’s also quite fast, often publishing new raws around a day after the volume is released in Japan.
When does the summary/scanlation for [latest chapter] come out?
The raws/summary will typically be released after at least 2-3 days of the chapter’s release in Japan, depending on how busy people are.
The scanlation can take up to 2-3 weeks (1 week if we’re lucky :D)
What is the release schedule for Ao Haru Ride?
1) AHR is first published in Japan in the monthly Betsuma magazine.
2) Shmook, Bikkuri or Yuzuyuiro buy their magazine copies. (Bikkuri usually gets it the fastest because she is currently living in Japan until January.)
3) Bikkuri writes up the summary of the chapter while Shmook scans the raws to be released on BXSManga.
3) Bikkuri’s back from her long stay in Japan! Now she’ll write up the chapter summary after Shmook scans the raws to be released on BXSManga.
4) In the meantime, Yuzuyuiro writes her own summary of the chapter (in a more detailed form) to be published on her own blog.
5) Both Bikkuri and Anime-tion/ChibiManga scanlate AHR into English using Shmook’s raws.
Of course, the time taken for them to do the above will vary depending on how busy they are, so patience is a virtue.
Where do you buy Ao Haru Ride?
Personally, I buy my Japanese manga from Kinokuniya in-store, otherwise I order online from cdjapan. You could always google some alternatives.
